How Attached Documents Are Secured and Verified

Each attached file is cryptographically linked to the certificate and timestamped when the certificate is issued. When a recipient or a verifier clicks the document icon, they download a file whose first page shows its metadata: the document name, who issued it, its hash and the verification method. The second page is the original document. Because the hash is tied to the certificate secured on the blockchain, a changed file would no longer match, so a verifier can confirm in seconds that the transcript is the one the institution issued. Files are kept in a secure distributed system designed for long-term access, so graduates keep their documents for life.

  • An enhanced certificate is a digital certificate with one or more certified files attached, such as transcripts, diploma supplements or photos. Each file is secured and can be verified, which makes the certificate a more complete record.

  • Each certificate features a secure icon on the right panel. With one click, the document is downloaded. Custom-styled download buttons can also be built into the certificate interface, in your institution’s visual identity.
